Get the Whole Home Protection Plan for just $49.99 per month. It includes all the benefits of the Appliance Protection Plan and the Home Systems Protection Plan, in one comprehensive package.    

What to Expect

  • You get appliance and home systems warranty coverage, unlimited expert legal support and 12 months of Ask a Home Inspector Subscription.
  • The warranty covers your core home appliances and systems. Includes: dishwasher, refrigerator, stove, washing machine, dryer, central heating, air conditioning, plumbing, electrical and hot water tank components of owned units.  
  • There is a 30-day waiting period for claims. Once the waiting period is up, your warranty is active.
  • Your warranty covers parts and labour for sudden repairs. Normal wear and tear isn’t covered. Check your contract for more information.  
  • If your appliance or home system needs repairs, it’s time to file a claim. There is a $50 fee payable for each repair issue.
  • If your appliance is less than 15 years old and can't be fixed, we'll contribute to the replacement costs. You'll receive a settlement equal to either the cost of repair or the price of a similar replacement product, whichever is lower. The maximum payout for replacements is $2,000.  
  • For your home systems, if the necessary parts are either no longer manufactured or no longer available, we’ll contribute to the replacement costs, up to $500.
  • The warranty covers up to $20,000 per year for all claims. This amount is limited to $10,000 for appliances and $10,000 for home systems.

How do I make a claim on my home protection plan?

Our team will dispatch a qualified service tech to your address within 48 hours. If the issue affects your heating system during November through March, we’ll be there even sooner. Don’t worry — we won’t leave you out in the cold.

Is there a fee to make a claim?

Yes. The technician will charge you a $50 fee during the service appointment. This fee is only charged once per repair issue.  

With Rümi protection plans, you can mitigate the amount you’ll pay for repairs, giving you peace of mind.

What is the maximum coverage amount per year for a home protection plan?

You can claim a maximum total amount of $20,000 per year. That’s comprised of a $10,000 limit for all appliances and $10,000 for all home systems. See your contract for more information.

Are old appliances and systems eligible for a home warranty protection plan?

Yes! Rümi warranties cover the appliances and systems you have today. Your aging appliances, plumbing, electrical, hot water tank, central heating and cooling system deserve warranty coverage too. If they’re working when your warranty coverage begins, you’re covered for repairs.  

If your home system or appliance is broken beyond repair, it’s time to think about a replacement. We’ll contribute to the replacement costs for irreparable products less than 15 years old. You’ll get a cash settlement of the lesser of the repair cost or the current retail cost of a replacement product of like kind and quality, up to $2,000.

The subscription includes 12 monthly virtual check-ins with a Certified Home Inspector. These 15-minute calls happen via video or phone to help you understand and fix issues around your home.

Can I cancel my home protection plan subscription?

You can terminate your warranty with Rümi at any time. If you cancel within the first year, you’ll be required to pay a cancellation fee.

Will I be charged for the remainder of my subscription if I cancel within the first year?

The first year of your contracted warranty starts when you purchase home warranty coverage. If you end your protection plan within the first 12 months, a cancellation fee will apply.
