FAQs

  • How effective are mold remediation treatments?

Our Dry Fog treatments are highly effective, verified and 100% guaranteed, or we re-treat your home for free. If we're able to resolve all moisture and water issues, this is a permanent solution to your mold issue.

  • Are mold treatments safe for my family, including my pets?

Dry Fog treatments are safe. Once the vapour has dispersed, you and your pets can return home safely. Our treatments are non-invasive, non-toxic, Health Canada and EPA-registered. This treatment will not harm the contents of your home.

  • How should I prepare for my mold remediation appointment?

We’ll contact you a few days before your appointment to go over what to do before we arrive. It's simple to prepare for this appointment and we’ll ask that you leave doors and closets open and ready for the service.

You do not need to remove your belongings from the home prior to treatment. In fact, you should leave as many of your belongings inside the home as possible. Mold spores get trapped inside fabrics, furniture, clothing, mattresses and other porous surfaces, so treating your belongings is an important part of mold remediation.

  • Should I be present during the Dry Fog Treatment?

Your family and pets will need to leave your home for the duration of the treatment, so plan a place for you and your pets to be during the service.

  • Will Dry Fog harm my paintings or wall art?

This treatment is dry and will not mark, damage or degrade wall hangings. Some people cover wall art with sheets or remove it for the duration of the service, but this isn’t necessary.

  • Should I store away fruit or other foods left out in the kitchen?

Our InstaPure and EverPURE products are FDA-approved for food contact, but feel free to store food in a zip lock bag or refrigerator to ensure freshness.

  • Will the Dry Fog Treatment get behind my walls?

Any place where a mold spore can get in or out of will be penetrated by the fog treatment. If there's a deeper issue, we can poke a few small holes between the studs and treat the back of the wall directly.

  • How long before I can return home?

You'll be back in your home the same day of the treatment. On average, you can expect the service to take 3–4 hours, depending on the outdoor temperature and if windows can be opened after. You may notice a vinegar-like smell when you return, but this smell is harmless and will disperse within a few hours.

  • What will the mold look like after the treatment?

Mold leaves ugly stains behind, even after the fungus has been removed. We can clean mold stains for a small additional cost. With the harmful mold removed, you can also do this as a DIY project!

  • What do I need to do post-treatment?

Nothing! Our mold treatments leave no residue, so your home and all items in it will be clean afterwards. There’s no need to clean fog residue from your belongings post-treatment.

  • Did you forget the "u" in "mould"? Aren't you a Canadian company?

Ahh, the great Canadian vs. American spelling debate... While we love to pay homage to our great Canadian roots with Canadian spellings, "mould" is one of those words that most people shorten to "mold." If you noticed the inconsistency, you're a top Canadian spelling champ, so give yourself a pat on the back there bud!
